Skills for Life

Our programme balances adventure with learning, and our young people develop practical skills, self confidence and leadership ability.

Welcome to 1st Dunbar Scout Group

We provide exciting and engaging experiences to young people aged 6 to 18 from Dunbar and the surrounding area.

We have a very busy calendar throughout the year, full of events and activities.

Each section meets weekly providing a wide range of programmed activities. The meetings take place both inside and outdoors giving our young people a variety of life experiences. Events and camps are run throughout the year to consolidate skills developed during weekly meetings.

If you are thinking about Scouting and wondering if Scouts is right for you, take a look at the information. More information is available in the relevant age-related sections.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with our section nights, events and committee. If you are wondering how you could help, check out our volunteer pages Don’t worry, we will support you to develop skills and offer training along the way!

We are a very active group with camps and activities happening all the time. We aim to develop young people with #SkillsForLife, whilst having fun and making new friends. See what we have been up to on our social media pages. Decided Scouts is for you? Visit our joining page to sign up.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
