Adult Volunteers

Be awesome – empower hundreds of young people!

Here at 1st Dunbar Scout Group, every week, our volunteers empower hundreds of young people to learn new skills, make new friends and stand on their own two feet. They shape young people’s lives for the better, and find out a whole lot about themselves in the process, too.

Today, there are young people on our waiting list wanting to join 1st Dunbar and begin their Scouting adventure! We’re more relevant and more needed than ever, but it’s not always easy to keep up with the demand.

That’s where you come in.

You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. You don’t need to have been a Scout when you were younger. You don’t even need to know how to put up a tent. Training, guidance and support is all provided.

Our door is open to people of all ages, genders, races and backgrounds, and we’re only able to change lives because people like you join our ever-growing team!

Whatever your skillset, we have a role for you, giving as little or as much time as you can, and I promise you’ll get more out than you put in. Lifelong friendships, camaraderie and adventures await!

You’ll experience things you never thought possible – no two Scout meetings are the same. The difference you’ll make, though, will be awesome!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
